Pro-Life Millennial Responds to Pro-Choice Comments

Sarah Therese is a Christian fashion and beauty YouTuber. She is well-known for vlogging her pregnancies, embracing motherhood and providing advice on a variety of topics to benefit the general well-being of her viewers. She is a proud mama of three beautiful children named Ivy Yvonne, Calvin and Ellie.

A few days ago, on February 25, 2019, Sarah posted a video titled, “Pro-Life Woman Answering Pro-Choice Comments”. I couldn’t wait to watch this, since I am a regular follower of Sarah’s and I find her content to be on-point with true Christian values, so genuine and eloquently presented.

Sarah defends the sanctity of life, like we all do and should as professing Christians.

I absolutely love her rebuttals to Instagram comments from pro-choice, or as she put it, “pro-abortion”, advocates. Some of their arguments included considering an abortion acceptable in the following scenarios:

  • if a mother doesn’t believe she has the financial, social, or emotional means to take care of a child
  • if pregnancy was caused by rape or incest
  • if a doctor recommends an abortion (which may be the result of a variety of speculations)

The bottom line: abortions are immoral, unacceptable and should never be an option.

Not wanting a child is not a reason to kill it. Adoption is an option, and there are many families out there who are eager to adopt. Also, not wanting to be a mother, because a woman doesn’t feel ready, wasn’t expecting pregnancy, or doesn’t believe she is financially able, is not an excuse to execute an innocent life either. Shelters and specialized non-profits exist to support women who struggle financially and emotionally. There is always help available in these situations.

Next to that, rape and incest only account for about 2,000 out of 1,000,000 abortions every year, according to Sarah. That is 0.2%. The majority of abortions are NOT a result of rape or incest. In the horrific event of rape or incest, the child still has the right to live and experience life. One crime doesn’t justify another. It’s just not fair to the baby, who has all the potential in the world to become something beautiful and to positively contribute to the welfare of society.

Furthermore, there have been many situations in which doctors miscalculate circumstances, or make claims about the viability of the baby and call for an abortion. A doctor’s prediction still is not a reason to abort a child. Many of these babies are actually born completely healthy and grow up to live normal lives.

There have been many mothers who have considered abortion but choose life, whether touched by the sound of their baby’s heart-beat, or the realization that God created this beautiful being inside of them. Just think: the world would not be where it is today if their mothers chose abortion over adoption:

  • Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple)
  • Larry Ellision (co-founder and CEO of Oracle)
  • President Gerald Ford
  • First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt
  • First Lady Nancy Reagan
  • Nelson Mandela
  • Maya Angelou (poet and author)
  • John Lennon
  • Tom Monaghan (founder of Domino’s Pizza)

God is the Creator of life and His creation serves a purpose.

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139:13 – 16 NIV

Please share this article with your pro-life and pro-choice friends, and anybody who needs to be reminded of the immorality of abortion.

If you or someone you know has gone through an abortion, there is hope and redemption found in Jesus Christ alone. God loves you more than you could ever imagine and He wants to forgive anybody who has sinned and is willing to repent, and turn from their wickedness.

Repent and accept Him into your life with an open heart, and you will be saved.
